To remedy the lack of mathematical programming\r\nand the Expected Marginal Seat Revenue (EMSR) model\r\nfor multi-leg seat inventory control, this paper proposes a\r\nmethod based on passenger choice. Except for data about\r\nwhich seats passengers decide to opt for, there is no need\r\nto obtain distributions of passengersââ?¬â?¢ demands or other ââ?¬Å?a\r\nprioriââ?¬Â information. The proposed method can discover the\r\nreal factors that affect passengersââ?¬â?¢ choices, and then\r\nestimate the probabilities of seat choices and the revenue\r\naccording to the weights of the factors. Simulated\r\nexperiments and comparison with the shadow price\r\nmethod and the virtual ââ?¬Å?bucketââ?¬Â method confirm the\r\nfeasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method in seat\r\ninventory control for multi-leg flights.
